Droo
Drew Edghill (A.K.A) DROO was born in Montreal, Canada.
Son of a twenty-two year old mother at the time of his birth, Droo spent his early childhood living in Fort Lauderdale Florida USA. He had then settled back in Montreal when he was 11. Being a rap fan for most of his life, Droo began rapping at the early age of 12 which was inspired due to the fact that he grew up in a predomanantly black area, and most of Droo's friends were black and who were also rapping at the time.
At the age of 16 he began to get very serious about his rapping, but it wasn't until he was 20 that he actually made a name for himself, becoming "Droo".
Due to the fact that Droo grew up without a father figure in his life, he grew an anger which would turn him into an independent, strong willed and determined soul and would take his musical talents to the top. As well as his interest in music, he worked in various other aspects of the entertainment industry, including some acting work around Canada which gave him the opportunity to learn a side of the industry. After being introduced to this world,it gave Droo even more determination and confidence that he was destined to take his god given talents and shine.
Droo's mother is based in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and uprooted her life in Canada in order to come to Belfast to look after her mother who was dying of cancer. Droo left Canada in 2001 to be with his grand-mother and mother and he also felt that good musical opportunities would arise, due to the fact that having a base here would give him access to all of Europe. Since being here, he has done various work and established a name for himself in Irelands entertainment circle. At the same time, Droo was throwing himself head first into the rap game, getting a job as an MC in one of Belfasts premier clubs and from there began performing his own shows on the local Northern Irish club scene. He has also performed in many clubs in london and recieved great reception.
Droo has become a great success locally,as everyone who has had the chance to hear him, has respected and been very enthusiastic about his work.In 2005 a film company, digitalsneakers, put together his first video entitled BUMP,which was a great sucess locally. Digitalsneakers returned to film yet another video,GodPlease! Great Video!!! In 2006 DRoo was asked to go to liverpool to do a show at Djibril Cisse's private fashion show, due to the fact that he sported Cisse's line of clothes Klubb Nine in his latest video God Please!.
Cut to 2007 and Droo was introduced to the guys @ Bassdivision / Central Productions, and they requested a demo. After a matter of seconds thet knew this guy had talent and immediately asked him to come in and start collaborating and working on a debut album.
Last year 2008 Droo's debut album has been completed and rest assured folks...it sounds immense!
Work shall be beginning mid 2009 on the marketing of a single release and then the album to bring this guy to the forefront where he belongs.
Drew has built a local fan base from proving himself as a top class performer, and he is now ready to take his game to another level.
